What is perfectionism?
Perfectionism is a personality trait, not a mental health disorder. This trait is characterized by setting extremely high, rigid, or "flawless" goals and placing excessive demands on oneself and others. While perfectionist thinking is not a mental health disorder, it is a culprit for more serious mental health challenges to develop such as OCD, eating disorders, anxiety, and depression.
Such challenges negatively impact one's self-esteem, intrapersonal relationships, academics, creativity, and athleticism. Group therapy is a safe space for teens to process shame and build resilience. In group therapy, your child will build identity, confidence, and relational skills with others who share similar struggles as they do.
Group sessions are 90 minutes at a rate of $75.00. There will be two groups offered weekly in effort to cultivate more engagement and intimacy among its members. To register your teen please send your inquiry to email@example.com
Address: 235 Avenida Del Norte, Redondo Beach, CA.90277
For questions please contact Monique Kennedy, AMFT #116810
Groups will meet virtually on Mondays and in person on Saturdays. This is a twelve-week psycho-educational/process group with a limit of six teens per group. Once the spaces become full you will be encouraged to register your child for the summer slots.
Parents, please consider and value the commitment required when registering your child for group therapy. Teens will be partnered for the processing segment within the group. No-shows, non-emergency absences, and late cancellations are unfair to other members who rely on their partners to be present for group exercises.
